Ph.D. Program in Biopharmaceutical Sciences
| Welcome to the Department of Biopharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program! At BPS, we research biological mechanisms and chemical processes to develop solutions that will improve human health. This research will determine new therapeutic targets (pharmacology), explain how a drug is metabolized and excreted (pharmacokinetics), explain how individuals are different in their drug reactions (pharmacogenomics), and develop novel methods for delivering drugs (pharmaceutics). The program gives students the experience necessary to unravel real health mysteries of our day, using bioimaging, biophysics, cell biology, molecular biology, bioinformatics, nanotechnology and biomedical engineering. Please see our faculty webpages for current areas of research. BPS students go onto become the leaders of the pharmaceuticals industry. For more information please see our alumni. The Same Great Program: Now in Two Locations! The Biopharmaceutical Sciences Department now has both Chicago and Rockford campuses that are taking Graduate Students. Both campus have skilled faculty who are engaged in cutting edge research within the biopharmaceutical sciences. |
