Mr. Tolhurst named Teacher of the Semester, Spring 2013
Mr. Thomas Tolhurst was named Teacher of the Semester by the P1 class of 2016. Cong Nguyen, the class president and the rest of the P1 Class Council were very enthusiastic about electing Mr. Tolhurst. Congratulations!

2013 Spring Dean's Scholar Award
Congratulations to Ryan Pearson (Hong Lab) for receiving the 2013 Spring Dean's Scholar Award!The Dean's Scholar Award is a one-year, non-renewable award presented by the Dean of the Graduate College in recognition of a student's scholarly achievement. The award is intended to provide the most distinguished, advanced-level graduate students with a period of time dedicated solely to the completion of their programs and comes with a $25,000 stipend and a tuition waiver.

UIC Student Research Forum
Congratulations to Yang Yang (Hong Lab) for receiving 2nd place at the UIC Research Forum in the Life Sciences Division. Her project title was "Dendron- Based Micelles for Topical Delivery of Endoxifen: A Potential Chemo- Preventive Medicine for Breast Cancer."

Dr. Robert Gaensslen, Professor Emeritus of Forensic Science, and Dr. A. Karl Larsen, Clinical Professor of Forensic Science and Director of Graduate Studies in the UIC Forensic Science Program just published a new textbook that they co-authored, titled, Introductory Forensic Science. The text is an overview of the field of forensic science for those without a scientific background, such as Police Officers, to teach how to treat evidence at a crime scene, what evidence to look for and how to collect it.
