GOALS
The goals of the UIC-based ICBG are:
- to inventory the botanical diversity and the medicinal plants of Cuc Phuong National Park in Vietnam, to inventory medicinal plants of Laos, and to promote conservation of these resources
- to search for biologically active compounds from plants of Laos and Vietnam as potential candidates for drug development
- to promote economic development in Vietnam and Laos through development of human resources, strengthening of institutional infrastructure, and improvement of standard living of participating communities
- to allow access to the information about plants of Cuc Phuong National Park (Vietnam) via the website
