Research & Facilities

The scope of the Department's research enterprise is diverse, with both basic science and clinical interests in medicinal chemistry, natural products drug discovery and chemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, computational chemistry, LC-MS analysis and target bioassays, chemical toxicology, and others.

A number of the members of the Department are also involved with other research centers including: the UIC/NIH Center for Botanical Dietary Supplement Research in Women's Health, the Center for Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, the Institute for Tuberculosis Research, the Program for Collaborative Research in the Pharmaceutical Sciences and the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Traditional Medicine.
