Centers and Sections
The Section of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy was established in 1983 in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the College of Pharmacy. Members of the Section hold academic appointments in both the College of Pharmacy and the College of Medicine (Section of Cardiology, Department of Medicine) at UIC. They are responsible for research and scholarly activities relating to the clinical use, safety and efficacy of drugs used for cardiovascular disease. Members are also responsible for instruction to pharmacy, medical and nursing students and collaborative clinical pharmacy practice in a variety of specialty areas within cardiology.
|Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research |
The UIC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research (CPR) is an interdisciplinary research unit of the UIC College of Pharmacy, jointly established by the Department of Pharmacy Practice and the Department of Pharmacy Administration. The Center was established in November 2001 by the Illinois Board of Higher Education as the "Center for Pharmacoeconomic Research." In November 2012 the name was changed to the "Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research" to reflect an expanded scope of work conduct by the Center.
Drug Information Group |
The Drug Information Group at the University of Illinois Medical Center is an academic and consultative unit of the College of Pharmacy and provides clinical support to organizations in need. The goal of the Center is to provide evidence-based medical information, to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals through workshops, and to serve as a resource for healthcare professionals involved in patient care. These services are provided by experienced faculty on a consultative basis.

The Section of Infectious Disease Pharmacotherapy was established in 1996. It provides clinical pharmacy services at the University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago, and to the Chicago Community Programs for Clinical Research on AIDS, the Cook County Hospital and the Core Center of the Cook County Bureau of Health Services Clinics.
