Edith Nutescu featured in "Pharmacy Today"

Edith Nutescu Featured on Cover of APhA's "Pharmacy Today"


Pharmacy Practice faculty member Edith Nutescu is featured in the April 2013 issue of Pharmacy Today, an official publication of the American Pharmacists Association. The article, which include Edith's picture on the cover, highlights Dr. Nutescu's contributions to the practice of pharmacy and her research accomplishments. The article focuses on Edith's role in leading patient-centered care and her research focusing on models of self-care in minority patients . Dr. Nutescu has been at the forefront in developing new models of pharmacist clinical care for anticoagulation patients. Her research portfolio includes studies of models of personalized patient-centered care in underserved minorities, comparative effectiveness research of antithrombotic agents, and evaluations of patient and provider factors in quality of care. This includes a recent 4-year grant from the National Institutes of Health and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to evaluate barriers to anticoagulation care and determine whether patient-centered self-care is a good option for minority patients.
