Dr. Greg Thatcher, professor of medicinal chemistry and pharmacognosy at the
University of Illinois at Chicago, was one of four scientists selected to
receive the inaugural Novel Approaches to Drug Discovery for Alzheimer's disease
award.
Dr. Thatcher and the other three winners will each receive $130,000 to support
their work. They were chosen by an independent scientific review panel of 10
experts chaired by the Institute for the Study of Aging's executive director,
Dr. Howard Fillit, a leading geriatrician and neuroscientist. ...
