Dates & Deadlines

The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health offers six degrees: Master of Public Health ( MPH), MS in Public Health Sciences (MS), MS in Clinical and Translational Science (MS CTS), Master of Healthcare Administration MHA), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)  and Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degrees.

Application to a degree program at the School of Public Health is through the Schools of Public Health Application Service (SOPHAS), a national application service that represents the 39 CEPH accredited schools of public health in the United States. All degree-seeking applicants must apply through SOPHAS (www.sophas.org), except those applying for designated online certificate programs and those students interested in applying as a credit non-degree student.

Unless otherwise stated, most degree programs admit students for the fall semester only.

APPICATION DEADLINES FOR DEGREE PROGRAMS:

• Domestic Applicants: February 1st.
• International Applicants : December 15th
• Applicants interested in receiving scholarship or other financial aid are encouraged to submit an application by December 1st

EXCEPTIONS TO THE APPLICATION DEADLINES ABOVE: For domestic applicants, the following programs have an extended deadline of April 1st (the deadline for international applicants remains December 15th)

• Masters of Science in Clinical and Translational Science (MS CTS)
• All degrees offered through the Division of Environmental and Occupational Health  Sciences  (EOHS)
• Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA)
• Doctor of Public Health (DrPH)
• The Master of Public Health in Public Health Informatics admits students in the fall, spring and summer semesters.  The application deadlines are as follows:
• Fall: April 1st
• Spring: October 1st
• Summer: February 1st

APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR CERTFICATE PROGRAMS: The following certificate programs admit students in the fall and spring terms only:

• Certificate Program in Public Health Informatics
• Certificate Program in Environmental Health Informatics
• Basic Community Public Health Practice Certificate
• Advanced Community Public Health Practice
• Certificate in Methods for Clinical Research
• Certificate in Public Health Management
• Public Health Practice Certificate at Rockford

The application deadlines are as follows:

• Fall: July 15th
• Spring: November 15th

APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR CREDIT NON-DEGREE PROGRAMS: All SPH Credit Non-degree options accept applications for Fall, Spring and Summer terms.  Early application is strongly encouraged as there are limited number of seats reserved for Credit Non-degree status.
The application deadlines are as follows:

• Fall: August 1
• Spring: November 15
• Summer: April 15
