ENROLLMENT OPTIONS
The School of Public Health offers a variety of enrollment options. In addition to regular full-time enrollment, part-time enrollment (less than 9 semester hours) is available for students who have competing professional or personal responsibilities. Students can apply to one of 3 types of programs at the School of Public Health. These include: 1) Enrollment in a Degree Program, 2) Enrollment as a Credit Non-Degree Student, and 3) Enrollment in an Academic Certificate Program.
The School offers six degree programs which include the following:
Students also have the opportunity to apply into one of the following ten joint degree programs:
- MBA/MPH
- MS in Nursing/MPH
- MA in Anthropology/MPH
- JD/MPH (in collaboration with IIT Kent College of Law)
- DVM/MPH
- MD/MPH
- MD/MS Clinical Translational Science
- PharmD/MS Clinical Translational Science
- DDS/MS Clinical Translational Science (pending approval Fall 2009)
- MD/PhD

Credit Non-degree Enrollment Option
The School offers interested persons the opportunity to register for public health courses as a non-degree student. Twelve semester hours of course credits and letter grades earned by credit non-degree students may be transferred toward a degree program upon the student's acceptance as a degree candidate. Academic Certificate Programs
The School offers eight online programs leading to a campus certificate. Students completing certificate coursework receive academic credit which may be applied toward a degree program if the student later pursues a degree. Successful completion of a certificate program, however, does not guarantee admission into a degree program at the School of Public Health. The seven certificate programs offered at the UIC School of Public Health are the following:
- Certificate Program in Public Health Informatics
- Certificate Program in Environmental Health Informatics
- Basic Community Public Health Practice Certificate
- Advanced Community Public Health Practice
- Certificate in Clinical Research Methods
- Public Health Practice Certificate at Rockford
- Public Health Management
