Not all browsers have the same capabilities. Various functions and features of this course are dependent on the capability of the listed browsers. This of course does not mean that you cannot view the materials, simply that various things will not work properly.
JavaScript & Java:
JavaScript and Java are a computer programming languages which works inside your browser. It allows additional functionality and interactivity from a Web page. If you are using Netscape Navigator version 3 or up, JavaScript may be turned on by selecting Options, Network Preferences, Languages. Find the checkboxes for both JavaScript and Java and check them both. Then Reload this page.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 3 or up, JavaScript may be turned on by selecting View, Internet Options, Advanced. Please turn on both Java and JavaScript and Refresh this page.

Cookies are small bits of information a Web site can store on your computer. An example of its use is to store what page you are reading. Some people view cookies as a security risk. Not to say you should not be concerned but a few words are in order. Cookies cannot "look around" on your computer. They cannot find your name or tamper with your software. Cookies can be given an expiration date. This is why some Websites seem to know something about you and then forget. Providing a course online involves a great deal of interaction between you and our service. That is why we use cookies.
Video:
This course makes extensive use of audio and video. To take advantage of these materials you need two things.
You can obtain a free media player here.
The quality of audio and video over the Internet is highly dependent on the speed, quality and the amount of traffic on your connection. As you are playing some audio/video you may experience some breaking up of the material. Dependent on which player you are using you may see a message displayed like "Network congestion." This is a sign of traffic on the network. It is usually an intermittent problem related to time of day. Under rare circumstances you may lose your connection altogether. In this case the player will display something like "Stopped". Click your player's start button to reestablish your connection.
Some common problems:
If you wish to participate in this course from your place of work, please view this test page while at your workplace. It is not uncommon for these environments to place a Proxy Server between you and the Internet for security reasons. You may have difficulty accessing some of our services. We are sorry but we cannot assist in these types of problems. See your network administrator.
