Dear Sir or Madam: Your department just has to help me. My daughter is sick. Shelly has leukemia and I just know it's caused by all the pollution around here. My friends say that cancer can be caused by pollution and I've read some stories too. Some of them have children with leukemia too! When I raised this with my doctor, she seemed surprised and asked me about the other cases. Did you see the television news last week about a local factory being fined by the EPA for dumping chemicals into the water? If you didn't, I'm enclosing a newspaper clipping about it. Isn't this what could be making our children sick? I want to talk to you about this. You've got to do something. Please call and let me know when I can come by to meet with you.
