System
Requirements
Chances are
your computer meets or exceeds all system requirements for
viewing or listening to a webcast. Realplayer software requires
a certain amount of memory and a minimum processor speed.
However, if your computer is a few years older, you may only
need to run an older version of RealPlayer. (Version 5, for
example—see the download page for instructions).
Here are the system requirements for your computer (if you
need help figuring out what you have inside, here are
a few hints:)
- Windows:
On the C Drive, under "My Computer", select "Control Panel."
In the window that appears, select the "System" icon. Under
the "General" tab you will find the details you need about
the operating system (OS), the speed of your processor and
how much RAM you have.
- MacIntosh:
Under the Apple Menu, select "Apple System Profiler" and in
the window that appears, select the tab "System Profile."
Here you will find the details you need about your operating
system under "Software Overview"; about RAM, under "Memory
Overview," and processor speed under "Hardware Overview."
Windows:
120MHz Intel Pentium processor or equivalent (audio only)
16MB of RAM, i.e. the RealPlayer requires this much RAM, so
depending depending on what other applications are installed
on your computer, you will probably need more than 16MB of
RAM.)
28.8Kpbs modem
16-bit sound card and speakers
65,000-color video display card (video)
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0 with
Service Pack 4
Internet Explorer 4.0.1 or Netscape 4.0
MacIntosh:
Mac OS 8.1 or later
32 MB RAM
Virtual Memory turned on, set to 64MB
604 PowerPC* (200 MHz or better)
28.8Kpbs modem Internet Connection
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or Netscape 4.05
