Session Speakers

Faye Eldar, M.Ed., Family Liaison, Quality Community Managed Care Project: Phase II, located at the Center for the Advancement of Distance Education, School of Public Health, University of Illinois at Chicago.

Norman Jacobs, MD is a pediatric infectologist at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Miriam Kalichman, MD is the Medical Director, Children's Habilitation Center, Chicago, Associate Medical Director, Division of Specialized Care for Children (Illinois's Title V agency, and Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the College of Medicine at the University of llinois at Chicago.

Immunization Action Coalition

This site, also the home of Needle Tips, has many consumer publications, extensive links, a directory of national immunization resources, resources for parents, including a Vaccine Myths page, which has a section on "Vaccines: What Every Parent Should Know", on-line camera-ready handouts, plus many free print materials.

Facts and Comparisons: The Immunization Gateway

Subtitled the Immunization Fact-Finder, this site is hosted by a pharmaco-epidemiologist, Dr. Jon Grabenstein. The site surveys expert immunization resources and presents them in a consumer–friendly format, with frequent updates.

American Academy of Pediatrics

The "You and Your Family Section" contains the AAP’s recommended immunization schedule, which is updated yearly, an updated discussion for parents on "Immunizations: What You Need to Know", as well as professional resources on pediatric immunizations.

KidSource Online

KidSource Online is a popular parenting site, designed for the general population. The section on vaccinations, "Kid’s Vaccinations Get a Little Easier", includes a downloadable vaccination schedule, a comprehensive overview of vaccinations including their history, vaccines and the law, explanations of the required vaccines in lay language, and answers to common questions that families ask.
