Software

The MCH-Info software program can be downloaded free of charge and requires an IBM-compatible microcomputer with the following minimum configuration:

There are several install options for the user, each taking different space requirements. The number of bytes free on your hard drive will be displayed when you install MCH-Info.

MCH-Info with supporting EPI-Info, EPI-Map, and data files requires a minimum of:

A graphics adapters (board) is necessary to produce graphs. Adapters using Hercules or IBM monochrome, EGA, VGA, IBM 3270, IBM 8514, and AT&T standards are all supported. A color graphics board and monitor are recommended. You may have trouble reading some of the on-screen instructions with a monochrome monitor. If you want to see EPI-Info
graphics you need to install the "egavga.bgi" file when you install EPI-Info.

The size of your data files are limited only by as many records DOS and disk storage can handle (up to 2 billion). A data structure (or questionnaire) file can have as many as 500 lines or 20 screens. The number of variables must fit in the 500 lines. The maximum length of a text variable is 80 characters. The total length of variables in one file must exceed 2,048 characters. The limit can be increased by relating the files (consult your EPI-Info manual).
