This was the first of a series of three 1998 audioconferences developed under the sponsorship of the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB), was presented on May 12, 1998.

Dr. Peoples-Sheps chaired the Working Group that collaborated with the MCHB to develop the MCH Model Indicators. During the call, Dr. Peoples-Sheps discussed the purpose of the MCH Model Indicators project, principles that guided the selection of indicators, the conceptual model used to guide the development of the MCH Model Indicators, the MCH model indicators themselves, and practical ways that the indicators can be used for MCH planning and policymaking.  Several other members of the Working Group were also available to answer questions during the audioconference.
