OVERVIEW
The Division of Environmental and Occupational
Health Sciences (EOHS) is one of four academic
divisions of the School of Public Health
(SPH). EOHS programs provide scientific
and public health training to prepare students
to protect the environment and improve the
health of workers and the general public.
Specialized study is offered in air pollution,
industrial hygiene, water quality, occupational
medicine, environmental chemistry, hazardous
materials management, toxicology, occupational and environmental epidemiology, and occupational safety.
EOHS graduates regularly find positions
in the environmental and occupational field
in government, industry, academia and consulting,
including the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration, Abbott Laboratories, Ford
Motor Co., Motorola, LTV Steel, the Cook
County Department of Environmental Control,
and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.
