Course Prerequisites
To qualify for the program, applicants
must have taken two semesters of calculus,
a year of general chemistry, and at least
one semester of organic chemistry. For those
interested in traineeships in industrial
hygiene or hazardous materials management,
a course in human physiology is also required.
In unusual cases, if only a single course
requirement is missing, permission may be
given to take it in the first semester of
residence.
Joint Degree Requirements
Financial Aid
Financial support from traineeships and
research assistantships is available. Financial
aid is usually available to qualified students
in the form of a traineeship or research
assistantship. The traineeships may include
a monthly stipend and/or payment of in-state
tuition and fees. Research assistantships
provide students with opportunities to participate
in faculty research projects and include
a wage and, in most cases, a tuition waiver.
Students may contact the university's Office
of Student Financial Aid, the SPH
Office of Student Affairs, or Iraida
Rios, Academic Coordinator, Environmental
and Occupational Health Sciences Division,
