Environmental
and Occupational Health Sciences - UIC
The
Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Program at
the University of Illinois School of Public Health offers
a 2-year residency program in occupational and environmental
medicine in partnership with the College of Medicine and the
University of Illinois Hospital. The program is offered to
physicians who have already completed their internship and
includes academic coursework leading to the Master of Public
Health degree at the School of Public Health and a clinical
year with consultation service, epidemiology, industrial,
and elective rotations. The program also offers physicians
advanced research training leading to the Master of Science
and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The program emphasizes the
preventive medicine aspects of occupational and environmental
medicine. The University of Illinois and Cook County Hospital
programs share program leadership, faculty, and clinical experiences
as well as the resources of the Great Lakes Center.
