Critical Thinking Approaches to Radon Mitigation

Technical Requirements

RealPlayer is required to view the "Video Introductions" and to listen to the "Presentations". RealPlayer is free and can be downloaded from this simple link.

The computer you are using to view the webcast should have at least 64 MB RAM. If you have less you may experience a slowing down of performance. [ Tell me more ]

You need a stable internet connection of 56kbps or higher. [ Tell me more ]

If the computer you are using is behind a firewall, you may need to ask your network administrator to open certain network "ports" in order to receive the audio-video and java applets. [ Tell me more ]

Once you click on a "Video Introduction", the RealPlayer will be launched with video and audio playing in the RealPlayer window. When you click on a "Presentation", a new window will open containing a slide presentation synchronized with audio.

You must have a monitor resolution of at least 800 x 600 to see the entire interface. [ Tell me more ]

If you are having trouble accessing this new window, you may have to temporarily turn off any pop-up blockers you currently have running. Below is information on disabling three common pop-up blockers:

Google Toolbar
Yahoo Toolbar
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 SP2

Google Toolbar

If you see this toolbar on your internet browser, look towards the middle. If you see an icon that has a number "blocked" then the pop-up blocker is enabled. To disable it, click the Options button. You will see the following window appear:

Uncheck the box next to Popup Blocker, click Apply, then click OK.

Now that button with the number of blocked popups should be completely gone from the toolbar.

Yahoo Toolbar

If you see this toolbar on your internet browser, look to the right of the Search Web button for this button:

If you scroll over it, you will be shown a message that says "Pop-up blocker is on". To disable it, click the black down arrow on the right side of the button.

Remove the check next to "Enable Pop-Up Blocker". The icon will then change blue, indicating that it is off.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2)

If you're using Internet Explorer, but don't know what service pack you have, click on Tools at the very top of the window:

IE screenhot

If you have SP2, you will see an option on the menu called Pop-up Blocker, as shown below.

Select Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

If these instructions did not correct the problem, you may have another program that is disabling popup windows or Javascripts from running.
