Blood Lead Mapping Study
A collaborative research program involving USEPA Region V, the Chicago Department
of Health, and the Center for Children's Environmental Health which applies
geographic information systems (GIS) technology to studying trends in the incidence
and detection of childhood lead poisoning in Chicago.
Measuring PAH Exposure in Ukrainian Children
A study that was planned and performed
with needed assistance and coordination with multiple Ukrainian
research and clinical partners. The study measured a urinary
marker of PAH exposure in 48 three-year-old children in Mariupol,
Ukraine who lived near a steel mill and coking facility and
compared them to 1-OHP concentrations measured in 42 three-year-old
