A grantswriting workshop was held on June 2, 2003 from 1:00 pm-7:00 pm. A U.S. university representative and NIH grant recipient (Thomas Cook, University of Iowa), his Central European collaborator (Ivan Ciznar, Slovak Institute of Preventive and Clinical Medicine ), Dr. Chris Schonwader and Dr. Aron Primack from the U.S. National Institutes of Health discussed grantswriting concepts, including general principles that can be used for most grant applications, as well as some specifics related to grants from the U.S. Government (NIH), the EU and other sources.

The seminar was held at the Medical University of Sofia.
