The Occupational Health Service Institute (OHSI)
Travelers Health & Immunization Service
A comprehensive
medical and immunization service for persons traveling abroad.
Mission
To medically prepare individuals prior to business, recreation, and study travel.
To assess individuals, who have returned from foreign travel with a travel
related illness.
Traveling
to foreign destinations can present health hazards. Those
hazards may be unique to the destination or common to most. An individual's
health history may also impact the risk of foreign travel. The University
of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health Travelers
Health and Immunization Service evaluates travelers, their destinations
and related issues to prepare them for foreign travel. The Service
also provides after-trip assessments and treatment recommendations
for those returning with travel-related exposures and/or illnesses.
Whether
traveling for business, recreation or academic enrichment, the Travelers
Service can provide the necessary health services for a successful
and enjoyable trip.
