• If a small emanation source of radon, such as brick, mortar, etc., exists within the home, increasing the ventilation within the home can assist in diluting the radon frrom this source, as well as from the soil.
  
  
• However, if the emanation source is large, ventilation is not practical.

Dealing with Large Emanation Sources

• In some instances, the actual building material has been removed from the home.

  This is very rare and localized in areas where contaminated building materials have been used.

• Thick wall coatings have been used.
  
  
• False walls have also been constructed over materials and suction applied to them.
