Radon Industry Licensing Act

The Illinois General Assembly declared in the Radon Industry Licensing Act (RILA) that in order to safeguard the health, property, and public welfare of its citizens, persons engaged in the business of reducing the presence of radon in the indoor atmosphere shall be regulated by the State through licensing requirements.

Home Repair and Remodeling Act

Radon mitigators licensed in Illinois need to be in compliance with the Home Repair and Remodeling Act. This Act states that contractors performing home repair or remodeling with a scope of work of $1,000.00 or more need to have a signed contract with the home owner or consumer prior to beginning the work.
