RADON IN WATER REGULATION

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• To understand how radon in water may impact radon in air concentrations, and how this relates to health risk and measurements.
• To be able to take water samples for shipment to, and analysis at, third party laboratories.

OVERVIEW

This unit will discuss radon in water detection and mitigation in homes with private wells. The Safe Drinking Water Act applies only to Public Water Systems. There are no regulations or requirements for residential property. It is, however, logical to assume that home owners on private wells will adopt the Standard established by The Safe Drinking Water Act.
