Application of Soil Pressurization

• Soil pressurization is an infrequently used technique.

  After ASD approaches fail.
  When sub-slab soil is very permeable.
  When sub-slab radon concentrations are less than 50 pCi/L.

Failure Mechanisms for Soil Pressurization

• Filter or inside of pit becomes clogged so insuffcient air is supplied.

  Clean filter, or insure that pipe can be disassembled so pit can be vacuumed out.

• Leaks occur in slab due to additional cracking or breakdown of caulking.
