Current Research
A study that was planned and performed with needed assistance and coordination
with multiple Ukrainian research and clinical partners. The study measured a
urinary marker of PAH exposure in 48 three-year-old children in Mariupol, Ukraine
who lived near a steel mill and coking facility and compared them to 1-OHP concentrations
measured in 42 three-year-old children living in the capital city of Kyiv, Ukraine.

Case Studies
Family and Children of Ukraine
The Family and Children of Ukraine is a collaborative project between
U.S. and Ukrainian medical and research organizations.
It is an ongoing prospective, geographically based series
of population studies that began in pregnancy and follows
the cohort of births. The Family and Children of Ukraine cohort is
the Ukrainian component of the European
Longitudinal Study of Pregnancy and Childhood (ELSPAC).
