UIC’s Health Policy and Administration Division in the School of Public Health studies organizational behavior, planning and evaluation, health policies, health law and advocacy, management of cost and quality of health care, and issues of effectiveness in health services.

The future of public health will be shaped by those who lead us forward: those who can think strategically, make ethical and effective resource decisions, and develop a vision for their community or organization. Health Policy and Administration students acquire the skills necessary to shape the future of public health. Students will learn how government works, how to direct policy, how to shape the direction of an organization, and how to evaluate the ethics, efficacy and economics of programs and policies, all in a convenient 100% online format.

MPH in Public Health Informatics

Public Health Informatics addresses the growing need for public health professionals to develop, implement and evaluate public health information systems. The MPH in Public Health Informatics is designed to teach students how to collect and analyze data related to the health of a population, and how to manage this data in a way that maximizes the efficiency and efficacy of current and emerging public health interventions. The curriculum is designed to deepen understanding of population health and develop expertise in public health informatics.


MPH in Health Policy and Administration

The Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Administration online program provides the education necessary for you to join the new generation of public health leaders, addressing key issues related to: public health law and policy, public health administration, communication and public health ethics. Students in the program will strengthen their applied problem-solving skills and gain an understanding of research design and methods for studying cost, access and quality of health care systems. Courses emphasize the connection between developing sound policy in health care services and implementing
it through effective management.
