Grant and Business Proposal Writer


Job Description:
The American Medical Association helps doctors help patients by uniting physicians nationwide to work on the most important professional and public health issues. Working together, the AMA’s quarter of a million physician and medical student members are playing an active role in shaping the future of medicine. The AMA is looking for a strong writer who will develop grant, contract, and business opportunity proposals to secure external funding to support the initiatives of the Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI) that comply with AMA grant/contract requirements. You will also monitor opportunities for support from private and public funding organizations, prepare subcontracts with external organizations to fulfill grant/contract terms and conditions, coordinate grant/contract activities with the Professional Standards Group (PSG) Grants Manager and other AMA units, develop and maintain a tracking system for internal review and approval of proposals and establish a knowledge database of PCPI staff expertise to draw from in completing grant/contract proposals.

Health Professions Education Program Manager


Job Description:
This job takes place within the context of national public health education. Specific areas of responsibility include: guide process to develop educational competencies for MPH students specializing in preparedness and response; develop toolkits for applying educational content to onsite and distance learning courses; map educational competencies to courses, learning objectives, and curricula; participate in dissemination of educational content to faculty and student audiences, including making presentations and writing articles for professional journals; participate in and assist in organizing meetings of professional educators and practice partners. ASPH-wide duties include staffing councils and committees.

Required Skills
Candidates must have MPH or equivalent; BA or BS with CHES certification and at least two years of health professions education related experience; or MA in Education with experience in health professions education. Knowledge of the fields of public health and preparedness and response is helpful but not essential. CPH credential is a plus.

Research Analyst


Job Description:
The Research Analyst will manage ongoing research and evaluation projects. Primary duties will include oversight of evaluation project components, managing data collection, contributing to new proposals, copy editing, and preparing written evaluation reports under the guidance of senior staff.

Tasks that an Analyst should be able to perform:

Preparing sections of PRG proposals;
Writing evaluation sections of programmatic grant applications;
Managing the day-to-day operations of evaluation projects;
Communicating the evaluation plan and its details to clients;
Managing the collection of quantitative and qualitative data;
Summarizing research findings and their implications;
Writing sections of evaluation reports;
Copy editing reports and other documents;
Reviewing and abstracting published research.

The position will be based out of the New Orleans office. Some local and out-of-state travel will be required.

Required Skills
A Master’s degree in social science or related discipline, plus relevant experience;

Access Community Health Network is seeking a consultant to assist with statistics programming for the Westside Healthy Start (WHS) program, a federally funded initiative to reduce race/ethnic disparities in infant mortality and low birth weight. The consultant will report to the Director of Research Programs and work directly with the WHS Evaluation Specialist, who is responsible for program data management and federal grant reporting.

The WHS data management system is transitioning from using SAS to SPSS for data analysis. Consultant must have experience writing code for both software programs (recent version of SAS and SPSS version 19) and be able to translate SAS program code into SPSS syntax.

Postdoctoral Research Position in Nutritional and Reproductive Epidemiology


Job Description:
A post-doctoral position is available immediately at the Department of Nutrition, Harvard School of Public Health. The fellow will work closely with faculty at the Department of Nutrition and with investigators at other HSPH departments, Harvard Medical School and Harvard-affiliated hospitals investigating the influence of nutritional and metabolic factors on human fertility and on treatment outcomes among couples undergoing infertility treatments. The work includes the study of nutritional approaches for the prevention of infertility using large population-based cohorts as well as the study of nutritional approaches for the management of infertility in clinical populations. The fellow will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development and validation of tools for the study of fertility and conditions associated with infertility in population-based studies.
