There are a number of internship/fellowship programs that provide opportunities for students to apply their knowledge and skills gained through MCHP. Some students find internships with local state agencies as part of their practicum (typically unpaid), while others participate in 1- to 2-year fellowships upon graduating from our program. The following are a few examples: Graduate Student Internship Program (GSIP) - offers paid internships in state and city health departments to graduate students in public health to provide training in MCH epidemiology. SOPHE Health Education & Promotion Internship - allows students to work on a variety of projects in the areas of advocacy, program planning, communications planning/outreach, research, fundraising, etc. Applied Social Studies Internship - conducted in cooperation with a community or government organization, public interest group or other not-for-profit entity that will benefit directly from the project. National Women's Law Center Jobs, Internships and Fellowships - offer opportunities to work in support of the Center’s advocacy and public education efforts focused on addressing important issues in women’s and girls’ lives, with special priority given to the needs of low-income women and their families. Wisconsin Population Health Fellowship Program - a two-year service and training program designed to provide recent graduates with practical field assignments in community based, non-profit, governmental and health service organizations. |
