What does the curriculum offer?

The MHA Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago provides students with:

  • the rigor of skills learned at the UIC College of Business, and
  • the vision and understanding of health, community, and population needs from the perspective of the UIC School of Public Health.

The MHA Program will educate students to become managers and leaders in a broad range of health service organizations. These include:

  • hospitals
  • physician group practices
  • long-term care providers
  • managed care organizations
  • ambulatory care networks
  • community health centers
  • advocacy organizations and
  • other health industry, government, and large community organizations.

Our MHA curriculum has been developed by an experienced team of academic experts and reviewed and approved by the members of our MHA Advisory Board, who reflect all levels of healthcare leadership. Core courses emphasize:

  • human resources
  • informatics
  • marketing
  • strategic planning
  • management
  • population-based analysis and
  • leadership and ethics.
