Deborah Rosenberg Receives 2006 Golden Apple

It is with great pleasure that I announce Professor Deborah Rosenberg as the 2006 recipient of the Golden Apple Award for excellence in teaching.

In the words of her nominator, “Dr. Rosenberg is patient, humorous, has an intuitive sense of students’ typical statistical pitfalls and misunderstandings, and has a solid grasp of how to explain statistics to students at all knowledge levels.

“Her combination of personality, statistical knowledge, positive student interactions, and effective teaching is the reason Dr. Deborah Rosenberg should receive the 2006 Golden Apple Award.”

The student body concurred. Due to Dr. Rosenberg’s exceptional teaching style, students of the School of Public Health felt that she was the most deserving of all of the exceptionally qualified 2006 nominees.

Dr. Rosenberg, thank you for your outstanding commitment to academic excellence.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Deborah Rosenberg as the 2006 Golden Apple Award winner. The Golden Apple Award will be officially presented on May 5, 2006, during the Commencement ceremony.

Moji Owolabi, President, Public Health Student Association
