Congratulations to UIC SPH Award Winners!

William Baldyga, DrPH Associate Executive Director of IHRP, was awarded the Excellence in Public Health Policy Award by the IL Public Health Association on April 10, 2008.

Sylvia Furner, PhD, interim dean, was awarded the Special Recognition for Academic Excellence Award by the Academia Section of the IL Public Health Association on April 10, 2008.

Maria Silva, DDS MPH candidate, was awarded the Excellence in Rural Health Disparities Research Award by the National Center for Rural Health Professions at the UIC College of Medicine - Rockford’s Research Day on March 26, 2008.

Janna Stansell, an MPH student in the Community Health Sciences division, has been named Public Health Student of the Year by the Illinois Public Health Association.

Alejandra Valencia, DDS MPH, UIC SPH alumni, was awarded the Young Public Health Worker Award by the IL Public Health Association on April 10, 2008.
