CHS Professor Honored by March of Dimes

Dr. Arden Handler, Professor of Community Health Sciences, has been named the 2008 Jonas Salk Health Leadership Awardee for Public and Community Health by the March of Dimes.

The Jonas Salk Health Leadership Awards were established eight years ago by the March of Dimes to salute Chicago health care professionals who have distinguished themselves in the areas of health care management, medicine, nursing, public and community health and research. The awards are named in honor of Dr. Jonas Salk who developed the polio vaccine with funding and support from the March of Dimes.
