UIC SPH Celebrates Student Research

The University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health held its 4th annual Research and Awards Day on Friday, April 10.

Doctoral students, Bogdan Catalin and Sarah Forrestal (tied for first place), and master’s student, Antoinette Price, will each receive a $300 award for their posters reflecting research excellence in public health. Doctoral student, Ignatius Praptoraharjo, was the Global Health poster competition winner, also receiving a $300 award. Senior Associate Dean Faith Davis presented school scholarships and awards at a mid-afternoon ceremony followed by a reception attended by faculty, family and friends.

At the 2009 UIC Student Research Forum held Friday April 18th, UIC SPH student Sarah Forrestal won in the category of Humanities/Social Sciences Business Practice for her abstract presentation, “Energy intake misreporting in NHANES 2005-2006.”
