UIC Students Launch Web Site for Upcoming Minority Health ConferenceStudents at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health launched a new Web site this week calling for abstracts and registrants for the 2nd annual Minority Health in the Midwest Conference.
The Web site is a way to reach out to participants and help formalize the conference as an annual event at UIC.
The conference is conducted in partnership with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Gillings School of Global Public Health, which has been putting on a minority health conference for 21 years. UNC shares its keynote speaker with UIC SPH via a Web cast that is also broadcast simultaneously at other schools across the country.
“We hope to someday be able to make this conference our own,” said Jocelyn Wilder, one of the UIC students helping to plan the conference on February 26.
The conference is organized by the Minority Students for the Advancement of Public Health. For more information on the conference and on submitting an abstract, click here. To register, click here.
