The UIC School of Public Health is proud to offer the nation’s only 100% online programs in Public Health Informatics (PHI). We are on the forefront of PHI training and are committed to the advancement of public health and community health through technology.

Public Health Informatics

Public health organizations are faced with the challenge of:

  • Collecting and analyzing data related to the health of a population, and
  • Managing this data to maximize efficiency and efficacy.

There is a growing need for public health professionals who possess the knowledge required to develop, implement and evaluate public health information systems.

The UIC Public Health Informatics (PHI) programs are designed to develop experts in the systematic application of information technology to public health practice, research and learning.  

Student Demographics

The UIC PHI programs are ideal for public health professionals interested in applying information technology to the study of population health. Our students hail from more than twenty-five US states, Canada, Europe, Africa and Asia, and include:

  • State and local public health agency personnel
