The Credit Nondegree option offers the following advantages:

• Individuals can enroll in a trial course for the purpose of evaluating the content, relevance, and presentation of either the MPH Program or the Certificate Program.
  
  
• Professionals interested in taking only one or two specific classes in the Public Health Informatics Program can easily do so on a credit nondegree basis.
  
  
• Those who would like to begin the MPH Program in a given semester even though the application deadline has passed may be able to start taking courses as credit nondegree students. Up to 12 semester hours of credit can be transferred toward the MPH degree on the condition that the student is accepted into the MPH Program. It is important to note that acceptance into the Credit Nondegree Program does not guarantee acceptance into the MPH Program.

Available Courses:

 All classes which are part of the MPH curriculum are available to Credit Nondegree  students. This list can be viewed under the description of MPH courses.

How to Apply:

Online applications are now being accepted for the Summer 2008 Semester.

Domestic students can apply online by following the instructions below:

• Click on the Apply button at the bottom of this screen. This will take you to the Apply Online – Graduate page.

• Please review all 20 steps in the application process. Then click on
  I am a Domestic Applicant.

• Select First time user account creation. You will then be requested to create a Logon ID and PIN. Once you do so, the Select an Application Type panel will display.

• It is important that you choose Graduate Non-Degree from the Application Type: drop down menu. When you click Continue, the Apply for Admission screen will be displayed. Choose your preferred starting date from the Admission Term: drop down menu, enter your name, and click on Fill Out Application.

• The Application Checklist panel will appear with a number of sections to be completed. On the Planned Course of Study panel click on Change this Program. At the Select your major drop down menu which follows, choose Non-Degree Public Health Informatics–UIC and click Continue.

• After you have filled out all the sections on the Application Checklist panel, click on Application is Complete to submit your application.

• A copy of your latest transcript or diploma together with a curent resume is necessary for the application. They should be sent together with the $50 application fee to the following address:

International students can apply online by following the instructions below:

• Click on the Apply button at the bottom of this screen. This will take you to the Apply Online – Graduate page.

• Please review all 20 steps in the application process. Then click on
  I am an International Student.

• It is important that you choose International Non-Degree Grad from the Application Type: drop down menu. When you click Continue, the Apply for Admission screen will be displayed. • The Application Checklist panel will appear with a number of sections to be completed. On the Planned Course of Study panel click on Change this Program. At the Select your major drop down menu which follows, choose Non-Degree Public Health Informatics–UIC and click Continue.

• After you have filled out all the sections on the Application Checklist panel, click on Application is Complete to submit your application.

Applications for the Summer 2008 Semester will be accepted until April 15, 2008.
