Leading Online Program

UIC was one of the first universities in the country to place the study of informatics into the context of public health, and we continue at the forefront of the field with the only fully online programs in public health informatics. We provide the ideal combination of flexibility and real-world application that today’s professionals demand.

As a member of the UIC online learning community, you will receive the same quality of education as students in the traditional classroom setting. Our programs are innovative and responsive to the unique needs of online learners. Your benefits include information-rich course content, personalized attention, access to online educational resources and a network of faculty, staff and other students who take pride in education. 

Our learning experiences are asynchronous; they may be utilized anytime and anywhere. We do not require specific times to log-on, and never require campus visits. Our curriculum is active, engaging, challenging, and enhanced via:

  • Academic Assistance – Our professors, teaching assistants and advisors respond quickly to email, provide phone support, and schedule individual tutorial sessions upon request.
  • Collaborative Learning – Our students interact with each other and their instructors utilizing multimedia, threaded discussion, chat and much more.
  • Integration of Commercial Software – We utilize industrial-strength programs in conjunction with our coursework, including Adobe Dreamweaver, ArcGIS, Clementine data mining software and SAS.
