In recognition of the wide variety of organizations that comprise the public health system, MARPHLI is open to candidates in governmental agencies, nonprofit organizations, academia, and policy making bodies.

Candidates for the Institute should hold leadership positions in local or state public health organizations and have at least five years of practice experience. It is our belief that achieving the objectives of Healthy People 2010 will be a team effort that will build public health capacity by fostering collaboration among the myriad components of the community and the public health system.
