Applications Being Accepted Year 17 MARPHLI
"The Politics of Change"
Applications are now being accepted for Year 17 of the Mid America Regional Public Health Leadership Institute. The theme for Year 17 is "The Politics of Change," and will focus on policy development. The Kickoff conference will be held November 11-14, 2008, in St. Charles, IL. Download an application here.
MARPHLI Welcomes 1st International Fellow
MARPHLI and the International Collaborative for Public Health Emergency Preparedness welcomed our first international fellow. Radoslav Olejnik, MD, JD, is the Senior Officer for Pandemic Planning at the Ministry of Health for the Czech Republic. During his visit, he met with senior prepardness officials in Illinois, including the Directors of the Chicago Department of Public Health and the Illinois Department of Public Health. Mr. Olejnik's participation in MARPHLI coincides with the theme for Year 16: Meta Leadership and Preparedness: Collaboration in a Global Health Environment. As part of his experience in the Leadership Institute, Dr. Olejnik will be developing a public health leaderhship institute for the Czech Republic.
