3A CONTACT LIST: LAB PROFESSIONAL

Using the case definition for gastrointestinal anthrax and the Level A laboratory results, you are convinced that your community has been intentionally exposed to a biological agent. Although you have many cases, any finding of anthrax in your community should make you suspicious.

The questions now are, what to do and who to call. When searching the CDC bioterrorism website, one of the site topics you may have noticed is "Emergency Response", and there is also a featured link "Who to Contact in an Emergency".

Either selection leads to a link under Emergency Notification Procedures for state and local health officials, Interim Recommended Notification Procedures for Local and State Public Health Department Leaders in the Event of a Bioterrorist Incident, which provides a protocol for response that follows. Review this protocol, and obtain the phone numbers for the emergency response numbers of your FBI office and State Public Health Department.

Now that you have reviewed the CDC's protocol, complete this contact list with the phone numbers appropriate to your location.
