Ombudsperson

Welcome Students!

Welcome! I’m the newly appointed ombudsperson for SPH. My job is to help students who are having difficulty and need some advice or assistance in resolving their problems. While my office’s primary role is to handle non-academic matters, I am happy to direct students to further assistance concerning academic matters.

As ombudsperson I can advise students about procedures and methods available to resolve problems, provide dispute resolution services to resolve conflicts, consult with administrators on matters having school-wide, and perhaps campus-wide, impact; and direct students to available resources. My ultimate goal is to empower students to resolve their own problems. Please be assured that my services are strictly confidential. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the resources available on this site. Please feel free to contact me via email (rchersho@uic.edu). In your email, write ombudsperson in the subject line.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ron Hershow
