Welcome to the Office of the Dean
The purpose of the Office of the Dean
is to provide central leadership, oversight and direction
for the School of Public Health. The Dean and Senior
Associate Dean are charged with executive responsibility
for actions of the Office of the Dean and for those
of the School of Public Health overall. The Dean and
Associate Deans also represent the school at the campus
level, in local communities, in the state, nationally,
and at times, internationally. Administration through
the Office of the Dean focuses on the five operational
areas below.
Office of Urban Health and Diversity Programs establishes and supports
collaborative initiatives with community organizations,
governmental agencies, and the school's alumni. These
range from joint research and service projects to student
recruitment efforts and the development of practica
and job linkages.
Student
Affairs provides direct services spanning the student's
entire career at the school, beginning with admissions
and continuing with registration, financial aid, and
records through graduation.
Academic
Affairs monitors the content, quality, and enhancement
of the school's academic programs, including academic,
professional, and joint degrees, continuing education,
distance learning, and certificate programs.
Resource
Planning, Operations and Research Support directs
budget and finance, human resources, administrative
services, facilities, and research services support.
Development
manages fund-raising events and campaigns, the school's
publications, and alumni relations.
