East side - By Bus

Use any of these bus lines: No. 60 Blue Island-26th Street; No. 8, Halsted Street; No. 7, Harrison Street; No. 12, Roosevelt Road; or No. 37, Taylor Street.

East side - By Elevated Subway Train

The campus is served by what is known as the Halsted/University of Illinois stop on the route of the Douglas-Congress-O'Hare elevated-subway trains. You can take either an A or B train to the university stop. If you need more information about Chicago Transit Authority trains or buses, call the Regional Transit Authority Travel Information Department at 836-7000.

East side - By Commuter Train

Burlington Northern Penn Central, Milwaukee Road, and some of the Illinois Central Gulf trains arrive at Union Station, which is one mile north and east of the University. North Western trains arrive at the North Western Station, two blocks north of Union Station. Commuters to the campus from both stations may board the No. 60 bus (Blue Island-26th Street) at Clinton and Adams streets or at Clinton and Jackson streets. Some Illinois Central trains and all South Shore trains arrive at the Illinois Central Station at Randolph Street and Michigan Avenue. From that station, commuters may board west-bound Douglas-Congress- O'Hare A or B trains at the Dearborn and Randolph streets subway station. Rock Island commuter trains arrive at the LaSalle Street Station. Commuters may board west-bound Douglas-Congress-O'Hare A or B trains at the LaSalle Street Station.

East side - By Car

From the north, take the Kennedy Expressway to the Eisenhower Expressway west bound and keep to the right; take the first exit from the Eisenhower Expressway, which is Morgan Street; then take Morgan Street south one block to the campus.
From the south, take the Dan Ryan Expressway and exit on Roosevelt Road (1200 south); go west on Roosevelt Road to Halsted Street; then go north on Halsted Street to the campus.
From the west, take the Eisenhower Expressway to the Racine Avenue exit; then go south to Harrison Street and east to the campus.
From the east, take Harrison Street or Roosevelt Road; if you take Roosevelt Road, go west to Halsted Street and turn north to the campus.

West side - By Bus

Use any of these bus lines: No. 7, Harrison Street; No. 12, Roosevelt Road; No. 37, Taylor Street; No. 48 or No. 50, Damen Avenue; or No. 9, Ashland Avenue.

West side - By Elevated Subway Train

The west side of UIC is served by two stops on the Douglas- Congress-O'Hare elevated-subway trains known as either Polk Street or Medical Center stops. The B train stop you would use is Polk Street and the A train stop is the Medical Center. West side - By Commuter Train
