Special Programs
The University of Illinois at Chicago offers a variety of ways to support and supplement students' academic success.
Honors College
The UIC Honors College is home to more than 20 student organizations and honor societies, and has more than 1,300 members. The Honors College enhances students' opportunities through access to top advisers, a computer lab and a study lounge dedicated to support academic goals, special scholarships and more. Past honors students have won many prestigious awards including Rhodes, Truman, Gates-Cambridge and Goldwater Scholarships, as well as Fulbright and Phi Beta Kappa Graduate Fellowships.
Guaranteed Professional Program Admissions
The GPPA initiative guarantees select incoming freshmen admission to their choice of professional programs at UIC. This allows GPPA students to explore their subject areas without the pressure of the graduate school application process.
Special Scholarship Programs
UIC's Office of Special Scholarship Programs provides students with information about available awards, advice on application preparation, and assistance in applying for nationally competitive scholarships.
Study Abroad Programs
Students can choose from more than 200 international programs, from African-American studies in Ghana to archaeology in Egypt or Mexico. Last year, students received more than $75,000 in scholarships to study abroad.
