Anthony M. Pagano, Ph.D. is Director of the Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics and an Associate Professor of Management at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also associated with the Urban Transportation Center on the campus. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of Management and Strategy, J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. The author or coauthor of over 150 articles, technical reports, and papers presented at professional meetings, he is the co-author of the book The External Environment of Business: Political Economic, Social and Regulatory, Stipes Publishing Co., Champaign, IL, 1995, 2nd ed 1997. He has been Project Director or Project Manager of over 30 separate research and consulting projects. Dr. Pagano's research and consulting has spanned several areas including public-private partnerships (PPP’s), asset management and strategic planning at state DOT’s, private sector involvement in public transportation, benefit cost analysis, measurement of the output of government and service organizations, quality of service measurement in public transit, freight modal shift, economic impact analysis, strategies for implementing computer systems in transportation, organizational consolidation and relocation analysis and the development of social indicators for business. He has also conducted research in measuring quality and efficiency in the delivery of transportation services and methods of Transportation Demand Management.

Dr. Pagano served as Executive Director of the Metropolitan Transportation Association. This is an organization of private sector transit operators in the Chicago area. In 2006, he served as President of the Transportation Research Forum which is one of the oldest transportation professional organizations in the US. He was Program Chair of the TRF 2005 Annual Meeting held in Washington, D.C. in March, 2005. He also was the co-founder and Co-General Editor of the Journal of the Transportation Research Forum which publishes articles of interest to academics, policy makers and practitioners. The journal has been ranked ninth in the field of US and international transportation related journals by a panel of academic researchers.

He has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to teach courses in international business, logistics and supply chain management at Santa Maria La Antigua University in Panama City, Panama, in the spring of 2010. He will assist in the development of a curriculum for the university. Additionally, he will perform research in the area of pricing of transportation services for the Panama Canal Authority. Dr. Pagano teaches courses in transportation management, economics and public policy, international business and supply chain management and logistics. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University.
