Yuehong Wang Yuehong Wang, M.D., Research Specialist. With a background in cell culture, Dr. Wang is evaluating the mammalian cell toxicity and intracellular anti-TB activity of drug candidates using macrophage cell lines. She overseas all testing of compounds against M. tuberculosis in mice.
Kamolchanok Rukseree Kamolchanok Rukseree, Ph.D., aka Mod, recently completed studies of the TB fructose 1,6 bisphosphate aldolase at Mahidol University in Bangkok. She is pursuing several target-based drug discovery projects in the ITR including the aldolase and malate synthase.
Yeun Kim Yeun Kim, M.S., Visiting Research Specialist, graduated with a master's degree in Microbiology from the Yonsei University. She is working with Dr. Cho on drug target identification and in vitro assay evaluation.
Yongmao Sun Yongmao Sun, Ph.D., graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, MO with a background in organic chemistry. He is working on the NIH-funded Benzoxazine project.
Valentina Petukhova Valentina Petukhova, M.S., Research Specialist. Valya synthesizes various new anti-TB compounds; target-oriented multi-step synthesis of various compounds as potential therapeutics for treatment of TB.
Baojie Wan Baojie Wan, B.S. , Research Specialist, holds degrees in both Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Computer Science. She is responsible for high throughput screening against M. tuberculosis and database management.
Marcelle Hon Marcelle Hon, B.S., holds a degree in Animal Science. She works with Dr. Wang on the evaluation of new compounds in TB-infected mice as well as in vitro assessments of anti-TB and cytotoxic activity.
Brian Becker Brian Becker, B.S. graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is working with Dr. Cho on high throughput screening against replicating and non-replicating M. tuberculosis.
Kim Sidell Kim Sidell, B.S. graduated with a degree in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is working with Dr. Cho on high throughput screening against replicating and non-replicating M. tuberculosis.
Gelson Taube Gelson Taube, B.S., holds a degree in Biochemistry from Florida State University, and is currently a PharmD student. His work involves the molecular analysis of lab-generated resistant mutants of M. tuberculosis.
