Dr. Greg Calip Joins PSOP Faculty

The Department of Pharmacy Systems, Outcomes and Policy (PSOP) at UIC is pleased to announce the latest addition to its world class faculty. Gregory S. Calip will join the faculty on August 16, 2014. Dr. Calip is a UIC alum (PharmD 2008). He holds an MPH degree in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from New York University, and will graduate with a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Washington in June. His dissertation work examined commonly used medications and cardiometablic risk factors for breast cancer survivorship outcomes. Since October 2010 Greg Calip has been Postdoctoral Fellow on an NIH-funded R25 grant, the Cancer Prevention Training Grant in Nutrition, Exercise and Genetics at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. At UIC Dr. Calip will focus his research on pharmacoepidemiology in cancer and related areas. His expertise includes several important methodological approaches, including time series analysis, disease risk and propensity score methods, and marginal structural models. Dr. Calip will also have an appointment in the Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomic Research (CPR). Dr. Calip's expertise will add depth to the established strengths of Department and Center in pharmacoepidemiology and comparative effectiveness research.
